Look who's calling the kettle....

Black!

At first i was going to pass on this one....i mean, black is boring right!!! Then i began to think about it...and when i'm painting with pastels, and there is an area that looks 'black'.....most artists (me included) use deep dark blues, purples .... sometimes browns....anything but a real black! And so, when i began photographing the old cast iron kettle that sits on top of the wood stove, i could see that there are indeed many shades of black!

Just another day in the mudroom......listening to How the Light gets in! it's good!

Oh and to the Canadian blippers, did you watch the Giller Prize for Literature last night? it was great, and i felt so happy to find out that
Lynn Coady is a Cape Breton-er!!!! Even altho i'm not from here, and am not considered a Cape Breton-er, i feel like one.....this place feels like home!
