Ein überraschender Fund
I can't take credit for this photo; it comes courtesy of Herr Lenz who saw it in a bar in Tokyo (he's there for work this week and I can't wait for him to get back).
Montrose is only about 20 miles north of Carnoustie (where I grew up) and Montrose Academy was my first placement school as a teacher training student (many, many moons ago) so it has a special place in my heart.
It also reminds me of a swimming gala in which I won a silver medal for backstroke and a gold in the relay, of bird watching (a school trip) in Montrose Basin and of a restaurant called "Roo's Leap" which was very popular for birthday parties for a while.
Herr L informs me that there were no other pictures of places in the U.K on the walls so the question is...why Montrose? And; since when has Montrose been famous for tennis?!?
A surprising find in the centre of Tokyo.
