Haunts of Nature

"Enter this wild wood and view the haunts of nature" is what the sign reads over the entrance to one of the paths through Grant Park! We've taken this path many times over the years, & it's an awesome one! It gradually slopes down, & has several small bridges that criss-cross a large stream; eventually both the stream & the hikers end up coming out of the trees & onto the shore of Lake Michigan! Going down is easy; coming up is a workout, as it's a steep climb back up, but worth every minute of it! Beautiful trees & plants, lots of squirrels, chipmunks, birds, & occasionally deer. Rainy & wet today, but I enjoy the occasional rainy day--great reading weather! :)
