Mahonia

The colours of the flowers on my mahonia shrub seem to be quite spectacular this season. The shrub obviously appreciated the hot summer and now the wet autumn. Hopefully, it'll continue to flower throughout the winter months. I made an 'insect hotel' last week and it's placed quite near this shrub, and so I'm hoping that any insects that venture out on a warmer day will find the flowers a useful food source.
