Winter Kale

There's not much blooming right now but on my walk I spied this winter kale. I never really liked this plant as it doesn't fit in on my vision of the Northwest gardening. After all, Kale is in the cabbage family. I like my northwest natives like dogwoods, Oregon grape and ferns so you wouldn't catch me with this plant in my own garden. However, on close inspection, it's really quite an interesting but I think I'll enjoy it just in my neighbor's garden.
