Aylesbury Arm, Grand Union Canal
Had to go to the Docs this am & from there we went to the tip. On the way back we called at the chemist for yet more drugs then diverted to Kings Road, Queen's Park, Highbridge Road area for a nose around. These places are on my doorstep yet I never see them as I can't walk very far.
The two pictures are taken from the canal towpath near the footbridge at Highbridge Road / Highbridge Walk:
The top picture shows the view looking toward the A41 overbridge & beyond to the locks adjacent to Park Street bridge.
And the other picture shows the view looking towards the Town Centre & the repairs that are being made to the canal at the rear of Waitrose. Just to the far left you can see where the canal basin used to be, which marked the stop point of the Aylesbury Arm. A new one has been built "upstream" at considerable cost. The problem was that the new development did not cater for people living on the canal (as quite a few people do) so it has been moved "out of the way". Its a shame but the planners efforts this time is a real effort to attract people to the canal side area of the town ie Theatre, shops etc.
Its a bit dull & a bit grey & a bit damp underfoot though not as bad as yesterday.
You may have noticed that all pics in November are of Aylesbury, I'm trying to last the month, but we'll see. There are lots of places to picture some nice & some not so nice ...
