The Scallop

The rather beautiful, if somewhat controversial, piece of sculpture called The Scallop.
Produced by Maggi Hambling and unveiled in 2003, it sits on the beach at Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
The weather wasn't as kind as predicted so I have had to use flash as well as the natural light, but it certainly is a splendid and dramatic subject.

PS Nature update! Watched a lovely murmuration of starlings over Snape Maltings late this afternoon. Impressive.
