Purple Smoke

A leaf - well it is autumn!

Arrived home just as it was dropping dark with a sinking heart knowing I hadn't got a blip sorted! Nothing looked promising and the auto focus wouldn't work as the light was so dim. Hardly able to see down the lens myself I took a few shots. Flash on or flash off, that was the question.

This is the leaf of a Smoke tree - lovely with it's variegated colours. The rich tones and hues make it such a prominent feature in the garden with the deep plum-red foliage. With it's bushy dome like growth it's a striking feature growing to about 10ft high and wide. Am very glad I planted it now quite a few years ago and never more so than tonight!

Trotted back inside in the dark just as it was starting to drizzle. Roll on summer :))
