My Day Out
My friend had insisted that while I was in respite she would visit me.
Well she did more than that. When I arrived on Sunday there was a postcard awaiting me stating she would visit on Thursday. Unfortunately she had not put my name on it so the staff had gone round all the residents asking them if they knew anyone named Sheila. I was the last one they approached as I had only arrived that afternoon.
On Monday, another postcard arrived.
On Tuesday, another postcard arrived.
On Wednesday, another postcard arrived.
On Thursday Sheila herself arrived, believe it or not just as the post was delivered, which contained a letter from her! I have a suspiscion the staff were waiting just to see exactly what kind of a person my friend was.
She took me to our favourite restaurant for lunch, which was delicious, and after catching up on all our news we had a little trip around the countryside before ending up at The Pot Place for a cup of tea and returning here.
Sorry I didn't manage to get a blip, so I'm just offering this pic of an ornament in the dining room which seems to me to be possibly some sort of native craft item. Any better suggestions out there?
A truly wonderful day with an absolute saint of a friend (who said as she left "There won't be a postcard tomorrow"!)
