The big boys

Had a truly dreadful cycle into the centre of richmond park before dawn this morning ending up pushing the bike across a sodden field cursing. Happily I did eventually find a sight worth photographing in these two massive alpha male stags battering the hell out of each other. I'd say it was one of the most powerful things I've ever witnessed. The powerful smell of testosterone, the smashing bone, the grunting from the combatants and the howling of the other stags was something I'll never forget.
