At the Quarry.
Susan and I took a Korean friend to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge on the North Antrim Coast. While he went to see the bridge we took a walk down to Larry Bane, a disused limestone quarry at the seashore. Remnants of the quarry buildings had been ripped down and smashed on the shore, scattering lumps of concrete and twisted iron everywhere. The scene looked something like a war zone, but the shapes and colours formed by the interaction of the massive limestone blocks, concrete, and rusting metal, with the sea air and spray were dramatic and beautiful.
We were lucky to get good light on the November day; as we left the beach later on, it lashed with rain. But by then we were snug in the Alfa, heading back to Belfast and a warm turf fire. I managed to get this 'romantic' shot of Susan on the rocks at Larry Bane from the shoreline with my mobile phone.
