Becky and Badger

Quite a miserable wet day again ,but we all donned waterproofs and walking boots, gathered up Badger the dog and had a nice muddy walk along the River Barle just north of Dulverton. The plan had been to walk to Tarr steps cross the river over the bridge made of large stones and walk back. Sadly some of the stones had washed away in the recent storms . Ben , who loves to run, gallantly ran up river to a small bridge, back down the other side and then along the road to the car... over 5 miles ! Meanwhile we had our hot soup and rolls sitting by the river . We reached the other side of the bridge just as Ben drove the car to meet us. He was quite tired after his 5+ mile run on top of a 7 mile walk.
