Dusk at Midday

On a day of prolonged and particularly heavy showers a squall tracked along the Solent and daytime turned to dusk creating an eerie light during which time even the street lights came on.

Usually these conditions are accompanied by gale force winds but making it feel even stranger it remained flat calm with an oily looking sea.

Shortly after taking the pictures it got even darker as the heavens opened as I dashed back home for a welcome lunch.
