Garden of Remembrance

They gave their today for our tomorrow.
To honour the dead and remember the living.

Thousands of poppy crosses are planted in the Garden of Remembrance in Edinburgh as tributes to those who have served in the armed forces to help others live a life of freedom. Very many have died in conflicts since WW2 and funds raised are used to give financial or emotional support to service personnel and their families.
(The Scottish remembrance poppy has four petals and no leaf unlike the English poppy.)
