Going Home
We left for Cherbourg in plenty of time, and had a good run along the French dual carriageway. whenwe reached Cherbourg, there was surprisingly little traffic and we found somewhere to park quite quickly - and it was free!
What we had forgotten was that Friday was a bank holiday in France and while this meant not too much traffic to drive through and free parking - it also meant that very little was open. Eventually we found small cafe which was open and had lunch, then we had a bit of stroll around a closed-down Cherbourg and made our way down to the ferry port.
The blip for today shows the view out of the cabin window and the lights of Cherbourg receding into the distance. I managed to get some sleep during the crossing and we got into Poole at about 10pm. It took us about three hours to drive home and we eventually got to bed at about 1.30am. As usual, it was very nice to get back home.
