rock stacking

Amazing how much energy one can get by walking along the seawall in a sunny morning. I knew I was privileged and felt guilty spending my morning just by walking and snapping. Until I forgot all about it and just enjoyed the sun.

Chatted with a young lady organizing an orienteering event for a school. Got an update of the local orienteering activities.

Chatted again with a photographer who was spending his third day in a row in the same location, looking for seals, bald eagle, and just basically photographing the changing colors of the seascape. He explained he'd be walking to the lighthouse and back or just here and there along the waterfront. I asked if he was doing stock photo. No. The pictures would end up in postcards.

Got approached by a little fella who asked if I would like to see the rocks he'd found at the beach. Of course I did, I'm a beachcomber myself. So he dug a selection of smooth little rocks out of his pocked. "These ones I keep and these ones I will give to my grandma. She likes rocks."

Ended up my walk watching the quiet concentration of rock stacking.

Have a fabulous weekend!
