A Lazy Sky and Early Pohutukawa Blooms

I took some time out today and wandered down to a waterfront park. It was a gorgeously perfect afternoon and lying on my back of the grass this is the view above me - clouds floating through a blue sky and glimpses of red blooms on the Pohutukawa tree.

The Pohutukawa is plentiful in coastal areas in New Zealand and is also known as the Christmas tree since its bottle-brush like red flowers cover the trees right at Christmas time. The trees have wonderfully shaped trunks and roots - I'm sure I'll be blipping more of them.
