Just ivy
This is just good old common ivy, but it is such an important plant for wildlife that I like to have some around the garden. Previous owners pulled it all off this old brick outhouse and cut it away from trees so I've been trying to encourage it again. Once it has thickened out a bit it will provide a nest site for house sparrows (much declined around this area), a winter roost and juicy berries for a range of birds, habitat for many invertebrates and a key nectar source for late summar butterflies and moths. Metre for metre it must be one of the best plants for biodiversity. Oh, and I think it's quite beautiful as well.
