My ability to carry locks is currently hampered by the breaking of my most recent saddlebag, but that only ever holds my cable and padlock. After attaching the U-lock to the rack with bungee proved too inconvenient to keep up I've just stuck it in the pannier, but the need to reduce the strain on the rear until I can get a resilient wheel prompted me to resume wondering how to create some sort of bracket nearer the front, preferably one which is not timewastingly hasslesome to use. This first effort was promising, though the bottom end of the thick bit impinges upon the path of the knees when out of the saddle.
