The male Green-Winged Teal. I was privy to some really nice light this morning out at the Arcata Marsh's oxidation ponds; I photoed all kinds of lovely ducks lit by the clear shining sun. You can see just the smallest smidgeon of the hyper-green speculum on the back wing--that which is responsible for this tiny duck's namesake.
