The Sunflower
I thought this dead sunflower was really pretty - especially with the bright green plants behind it so I used this picture instead of the one I had a funny story about! So guess what? I'm going o make you listen to the funny story anyway! My #2 daughter went looking for treasures with her dad and one of the "treasures" was a bouquet of freshly cut dahlias in shades of white, pink and hot pink. They were the kind with the long spiky petals. Well, as they were driving down the street a huge (according to my daughter) spider crawled out from inside them. She screamed and threw them to her dad. He (who hates spiders more than she does) pulled to the side of the road, slammed on the brakes, jumped out of the car and proceeded to beat the flowers against the curb! Needless to say, the flowers were sadly the worse for wear by the time she gave them to me. We plumped them up, gave them some aspirin in their water and tried to love them. They have become the most bedraggled things I have ever seen and I took a picture of them to blip but really, the dead sunflower looked so much prettier than the dead dahlias! Daughter is gone so she will never know!
