dinner date.
i think mav might have been able to tell i was in the midst of an upsetting conversation tonight because she made dinner for two. we decided cooking for one is just more difficulty than its worth - the vibe in our apartment has gotten considerably better since we're now splitting it the two of us. despite the financial stress its putting on my bank account, i'm getting spoiled with my own room and my own space. a luxury for students. so now its late and after a glass of wine, and two episodes of our new favorite show glee i've retreated to my corner by the window. tonight i'm listening to my playlist on itunes i have affectionately titled "quiet hours" which would be best described as my favorite instrumental music and the best of movie scores. currently, eastern promises by howard shore. i love russian themed sheet music for the violin. i honestly think the sad tunes that come out of the part of the world is one of the many reasons why i am always aching to go back. now i'm on a tangent - so if you haven't seen eastern promises, its fantastic. a tough film for sure, but very real and very good. i count it among my favorite films i can't sit down and watch. i also recently saw defiance which i found to be a pleasant surprise.
anyways, we lit my new tea light candles for dinner and chatted about the lack of spiritually fulfilling friends we have in our lives and with that our apartment grew warmer this evening. good night from the north east.
