Remembering

My father served in the First World War and was fortunate to survive. I am also old enought to remember the Second World War (and the rationing and lack of sweets!)
Whilst listening to the radio this morning, the Korean War was mentioned and that brought memories back. At school one of my classmates was absent one day and the teacher told us that he was away because his 19 year old brother had been killed in Korea wilst doing his National Service. This had quite an impact on the class as it suddenly brought the reality of war to us.
So many young men (and women) have been killed since and lessons have not been learnt.
