Remembrance Sunday

I always stop what I'm doing (if I possibly can) on both Remembrance Sunday and also 11th November. This year I was able to get to the Remembrance Service held at our local church, Holy Trinity, in Oxford.

There have been a number of stories in the UK media this year talking about the significance of the various Remembrance services. For me it's a personal thing. I stop and think about my great grandfather, Andrew Riddell, who died at Gallipoli in July 1915 while serving with the King's Own Scottish Borderers.
