Standedge

Off to the Standedge tunnel today; weather bordering on foulish (not hideous, not freezing, just vaguely unpleasant) so it seemed a good time to take a trip in a canal boat into the longest canal tunnel in Britain.

As our October holidays are a week earlier than in England the place was completely empty: we got the boat to ourselves, the guide was fantastic and there was a cafe selling coffee and cake and an indoor soft play and outdoor play area. Fantastic!
