Time for a nap.
Watched the Cenotaph ceremony from the BBC this morning. Mum reminiscing about the war. Several young men she knew died before they were even 20. Like the Remembrance festival last night the BBC did what it does best with dignity and taste. It is so interesting to hear the individual stories of those who served. Particularly moving this year were the two young soldiers both blinded while attacking the same compound in Afghanistan. Considering the trauma and how much more difficult their lives will be they were stable, bright and not bitter. They felt it a privilege to be at the parade. When I think of the things I have a moan about !! Beautiful , bright , sunny and cold today. Eoghan trying to persuade me to let him buy Dileas a waterproof coat. WHY I ask? He's getting old he replies and it's not good for him to lie around damp. Does this dog look as though he needs a coat? Does he look as though he suffers? I rest my case.
