Fred and his lump

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, Fred has been in the wars again. I think he is trying to move in on another cat's territory a few fields away (here to be precise).

The vet diagnosed a cat bite as the cause of the (painless) bulge which Fred currently wears like a furry phylactery* and I am hoping that the antibiotics prescribed will prevent any infection developing while the swelling subsides.

* I think I may be the first to use that particular term, "furry phylactery". When I googled it there were 'no results'. I find that rather gratifying.
