Remembrance Day
It's the time of year that the short-tailed shearwaters (aka mutton birds) start arriving at their southern hemisphere breeding grounds. Having flown thousands of kilometres from northern Europe a lot die on the way.
Each year several bodies turn up on the beach here. It must have been a difficult journey this year because the body count is very high. Every few metres there is another one. These would have been on their way to Port Fairy or Althorpe Island.
