Amaryllis

Amaryllis is (are?) very popular in the Netherlands and you see them for sale in all kinds of fancy arrangements. We even saw one this weekend where the large bulb had been sealed in a wax coating with multiple different carved layers and was still growing happily.

This one is the cheapest kind - home made after buying just the bulb in a pot. I made the display myself - the red glass beads are 're-cycled' from my daughters wedding last year, the branches and the glass vase I bought last year
