Cairo Wall

Another busy day. From tomorrow all the trainees just have one 60 minute lesson to give and ideally they should plan it more independently. This can be good for strong trainees and a chance to have more freedom to chose their material, lesson focus, the shape of the lesson and to experiment. For weaker trainees, we have to get the balance right and encourage some independence, but also give enough support to try and avoid disasters on their last lessons. We're making decisions on final provisional grades and so are hoping to see action points being addressed. It means challenging stronger trainees to go the extra mile and helping weaker ones just meet the criteria.

Other than work, Bb and I went for dinner with a Scottish teacher who joined the BC just recently and who works in a smaller centre in Cairo. A mutual friend introduced us. Imagine my surprise tonight when I realized we're from the same town in Fife! We had a nice dinner in our favourite Italian restaurant, sharing experiences about the different places we've lived.

Bed now. Up early tomorrow to do the marking I should give done tonight!

My blip's of a wall I've spotted before and it was on our way to the restaurant in Zamelek.
