Edinburgh Castle

This is the place where the National Covenant of Scotland was signed in 1638.
In 1679 1200 covenanter were imprisoned here. They were given very little food, shelter or clothing and over the years of there imprisonment a large number of them died. It is said that the kirkyard is haunted.
