All Hail The Self Sowers! Zinnia seeds...
I love this time of the year. I let the flowers go to seed, the ones that easily produce big seedheads full of an amazing amount of seeds. Many I just leave alone and let them self sow, but the zinnias are so prolific I pull a lot of seed heads off to spread in other areas of the garden. Something so satisfying about going through the whole cycle. You plant the seeds, they sprout, grow tall with tight buds, come into bloom, have a beautiful long times of glorifying the garden with a rainbow assortment of colors, and then go back to seed to start over again. It teaches us a lot about the cycles and seasons of our own lives. Nature, a powerful teacher.
