enjoying a free meal...

a herd of about 600 of them - gathered at one of the parks in the city - where they're eating the weeds - instead of the city opting to use one of those icky herbicides (yay for them!) - i'm all for a natural approach to eradication after all...

having a free meal makes me think of today being our veteran's day - here in the united states - how fortunate we are to be able to have anything which is free - to go anywhere - do anything - say anything - without retaliation - because there are those who are willing to stand up in our armed forces - and defend our rights - protect our freedoms - across our nation - throughout the world - i have had immediate family members serve for my country - i am indebted for their ability to have recognized the call to service and thank them for the years they have devoted - selflessly - for the wounds they have suffered in battle on my behalf - i am grateful this day - and as well, for the many other men and women - who put their lives on the line - every day - so i can can continue to enjoy the many freedoms afforded me - may i never forget to say a simple "thank you" for all they do for me - 'cuz they make it possible for me to have...
