VERY DIFFERENT STYLES
"Oh, that's so disgusting! Don't talk with your mouth full."
At first this cardinal was alone on the feeder while the cold wind was blowing her feathers like crazy – like she had a ‘bad hair’ day. Then along comes Ms. Prim & Proper Tufted Titmouse, and no matter how strong the wind was, her feathers stayed neat as a pin. She looks like she would never go out in public with crumbs on her mouth, and here Ms. Cardinal has food all over her beak.
The good news is – I moved the new feeder to another location and four different kinds of birds found it today. There were chickadees, tufted titmouses, nuthatches and a brown bird that I didn’t recognize yet.
The bad news is – it snowed today! A light covering dusted the grass and other surfaces, but it isn’t going to accumulate or stick. (On Flickr I’ve posted a chickadee at the new feeder showing the first dusting of snow.)
