Silver Screen

Tuesday and Friday afternoons are Silver Screen at the local Picture House. That’s where us oldies can get in to see a first class film in comfortable surroundings with tea, coffee and biscuits for a very reasonable £4.

Today we went to see Philomena with Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. This was an excellent film, well worth seeing at the cinema. I was never particularly enamoured with Coogan as Alan Partridge, but in this ‘serious’ role he was very good. What I hadn’t realised was that this film is based on a true story.
