Last on the wing

After a very wet day yesterday and equally wet morning I decided to risk a visit to Minsmere and was rewarded with some beautiful Autumn sunshine.

Not a lot on the wing today, though did see Marsh Harrier, Bittern and a Kingfisher. What there were quite a lot of was insects! Mainly flies but Dragonflies too. Common Darters are, according to the web, probably the last to be on the wing in the UK. They were certainly very evident today.
