Cold morning windows

Finding the windows glazed with condensation in the morning gives as much of a sense that winter isn't far away as the cold temperatures that cause the condensation to happen. I was intrigued but mystified as to why the clear patch on this window seemed to correspond to the spider web outside it - coincidence or some kind of subtle thermal effect of cobwebs?
