Govan shipbuilding cranes
I spent some time today photographing the cranes that are being removed from the Clyde by BAE. I don't know why we as a nation are so poor at preserving our shipbuilding history. At least one of these amazing structures could have surely been saved and moved up the river a short distance so generations to come could have appreciated them. The shipbuilding era is a memory only to be remembered through photographs. A shame the Clyde could have been a major maritime tourist attraction. Instead our priorities lie with a traffic cone on top of the Duke of Wellington head.
