Last tackle

This, unless my memory fails me dramatically, I'd the first live rugby league match I have attended since I watched Manly beat Sydney Souths in the blistering Australian winter of 1995.
Much to the scorn of my mother saying I knew nothing about rugby, I followed the game amicably & understood the moves & shakes & didn't need to ask for the rule book once.
England proved too strong for Fiji in the end & a respectful minute silence was served for Steve Prescott, who had passed away that morning.
A hearty lunch at a dock side pub probably helped with keeping me warm (along with my fur coat!).
Our afternoon followed with a night out on the tiles cobbles in Hull's Old Town.
My feet faired well given the skyscraper heels I was wearing. Alex & I ended the evening at 3am snuggled under a duvet in Robin & Laura's living room.
Early alarm call tomorrow... Need to be in St Helens as early as possible to collect the little man from my mums.
