Capturing the essence of the west
Denver Botanic Gardens is over 60 years old, in those 6 decades I think we have done a pretty good job of distilling and presenting in a manageable form and at time goes so far as to recreate the wild beauty of Western North America.
The american west like many semiarid regions of the world has its share of spectacular scenery, yet people here work so hard to create the bright green landscapes of eastern North America or Western Europe. Denver Botanic Garden is probably one of the best gardens to present the beauty of the native landscapes that drew people here in the first place.
Here you see the plains garden and Gates Garden two of our most wild gardens with two pieces of contemporary art in the current exhibit "Catalyst"
It is in a nutshell the goal we should all be aiming for the perfect mix of human elements with undisturbed nature.
