Bruce's Well, Cambusbarron

A fairly miserable afternoon provided an opportunity to blip Bruce's Well or at least the site of it. known also as the Chapelwell it is reputed that Bruce drank of the waters before the Battle of Bannockburn and that water from the well was sprinkled onto the battlefield. Excavations were undertaken to discover the remains of the chapel or any evidence of its existence but as far as I am aware nothing was found.
This refurbished site and plaque- the actual well has long since gone - is to be "unveiled'' on St Andrews Day by TV presenter Kirsty Young who spent some of the early years of her life in Cambusbarron.
