Medlar fruit

This is the time of year to harvest your Medlars.
You need to pick them and allow them to go slightly over ripe, this is called Bletting, to bring out the flavour.
Medlar jelly can then be created, it is very nice with Pork & cold meat.
This fruit has been harvested from a 200 year old tree.
