Aperture on Life

Long Day

I left for Birmingham early this morning and didn't get back until well after 7.00pm. I had an appointment to take more staff mug shots at midday which meant hitting heavy traffic in both directions. Nobody likes being forced into having the annual session for the record so I spent more time trying to get everyone to relax than clicking the beastie. One person had 'forgotten' the event so I had an hour to twiddle my thumbs and ensure the traffic was building for the trip home. No harm done but the dogs must have thought I was never coming back. None of them are used to being left for long periods during the day and were ecstatic to see me return. I normally feed mine around lunch time so hunger may have had something to do with their exuberance.

I stopped to get a coffee and some fuel on the way home and this was the sight in the car park. The yellow lights shining through the autumn leaves was absolutely stunning so I couldn't resist getting the tripod out of the back to take a longish exposure. I now wish I wasn't so worried about getting back to the mutts as I'm sure if I'd moved, even a few paces further from the car, the scene could have been even better.

Lucie and Lachlan have finally announced the birth of their beautiful little boy. His name is unusual but, as it should be, very Scottish. Sholto Alexander McWilliam... I'm sure you will be seeing him very soon. :))))
