cavalcade

This is the Festival cavalcade going along kings Stable Road. It used to be later in August in those days.

We only watched it for a bit, because we had to go to a friend's house for the Showing of Presents.

I doubt they have Showing of Presents nowadays. When someone was getting married you were invited to their home a week or so prior to the wedding to look at all the pressies they'd got, and have a cuppa with all the relatives.

that actually sounds so archaic , doesn't it?
