Housemates

Today I collected these three fellows: l-r, Mowgli, Baloo and Louie. They were going to be snake food but the snake breeder couldn't bring himself to dispatch them so took them to a rat breeder for fostering.

As with dogs there is a whole world of breeding and standards, which all seems a bit weird to me, but it does mean that there are rat breeders out there who really know their stuff and are an excellent sure of help, and if you are lucky kittens. The boys' foster mum had several big cages full of really affectionate rats and she'd obviously spent a bit of time with these guys as they are pretty friendly and confident considering their background.

They are a nightmare to photograph though, they are either moving to quickly or sleeping in a very dark corner.
