singing wings...
...from a duck
who was flying out of the little lake - sun reflected in the water as he headed up - looking for the perfect landing
i love listening to ducks fly - i've mentioned before - how if you listen closely - bend your ear - you will hear, their wings making the most beautiful music - a lovely high pitched sound as they lift off to soar past you - i suppose you might never be aware of it if you weren't paying attention - but over the years - i've come to appreciate the special nuances of this sound - it's like nature's music - speaking to me - calming me - soothing me -
i'm certain the ducks have no idea of this affect they have upon me - how i enjoy standing in their midst - waiting for them to take flight - trying to predict how they'll to begin that subtle, little bobbing of their head - right before they take off - so i can experience that wonderful, glorious sound...
have you heard it? do you listen? it's the same with geese when they come in for a landing - except it's like a tanker with them - more akin to a bomber jet flying over you - very unmistakeable - a rumble you cannot ignore as you tend to notice it prior to their honking arrival -
it's all a part of the dance - those wonderful things that draw us into creation and the wonder of being - cause us to gasp - open our eyes wide - go back for more - try to capture it with our cameras - in a form of self-expression to share with others - ultimately making for...
a
happy day.....
