Chateauneuf du Pape

We spent so much quality time at a nearby chocolate factory that we barely had time for a quick wine sample and trot through a wine museum. This is the ruin of the palace that gives the region its name. Wikipedia tells me that the famed wine growing area owes much to the drinking preferences of the Avignon popes who once summered here.
