Sambal

Do you like hot and spicy sauces? Then you must try Indonesian Sambal, made of red pepper. There are several different mixes with other spices, all of them hot and tasty. In the Indonesian cuisine, this is a must as a side dish, for instance with Nasi Goreng or Bahmi. This is Manis, one of my favourite mixes.

Sambal is also very tasty together with English cucumber.

I learned about Indonesian cuisine from a Dutch-Indonesian friend who was an accomplished chef. He could cook a Bahmi to die for!
