Serendipity Revisited

About a year ago I captured a leaf that had serendipitously wafted into my space, and landed on its side, smack dab between the boards on my deck.

Now, in a different home, in a different town, it's happened again as trees begin snipping leaves off their branches as they prepare to hunker down for winter. Yes, your tree's hormones are hard at work.

Within a few days to a few weeks, a bumpy growth of cells begins to push the leaf stem away from the branch. You and your rake know the final outcome.
