Favourite Time of Day

I took this shot soon after I woke up this morning (after running downstairs to get the camera and then climbing back into bed).

These days this is early for me, just before 8:00am. I spent many years of my life getting up at 6:00am, or sometimes even earlier, to get ready for school but since retiring and throwing away the alarm clock this is the time my body seems to want to surface from sleep.

You see the corner of our bedroom. I love these patterns and shadows on the wall because they mean that the sun is shining and the sky is blue. When I got up it was another lovely day but very, very cold.
